For awhile I have been pondering about me, myself, and my education. What can I help others with this knowledge I have? I’ve got a lot of stuff in mind, but I haven’t thought of something directly connected to the field I’m in—Communications. I’ve done volunteer projects before (and am still involved in one), but, again, nothing directly connected to the field I’m studying in.
It’s my last year in University and I can’t think of myself working for a company. No, I want to dedicate myself… By doing what? I don’t know. That was what I was thinking hard about. I want to help share this effort, time, and money my parents and I have put into University so that a lot of people can benefit from it too. But… what? And I’m not talking about doing the little stuff (though that is also important), I was thinking about doing something ‘bigger’.
Okay, enough with the ‘what-what’. A friend asked to meet me one day and last Friday we talked.
He already graduated and turns out he had the same thoughts in his mind. What can he do to show for with this education he had? He didn’t want to look for a job and work for a company (there are a lot of other ways to fulfill your daily needs without doing this). He finished his education and now he wants to dedicate himself. Though, like me, he didn’t know what, yet.
An opportunity came when he stumbled on a contest. A Foundation wants to fund good and applicable ideas that are useful for society. So, they opened a ‘contest’ for people to send in their great ideas; the chosen proposals will be funded. My friend had an idea and he submitted it to this contest.
To his surprise, his idea was among the TWENTY who won (out of EIGHT HUNDRED and so proposals)!
Now, I haven’t told you what his idea was. I think it’s a wonderful idea, and he asked me to join in his team ^_^. This is not the first project I have done with him and his other friends (who are my friends also), so I kind of already know his ‘routine’.
I’ll explain about the project in another post…
Moral of the story: ‘Intention’ is a very important part of ‘action’. It starts with the intention, then doors will open and roads will be paved towards what we want to achieve.
Hey, what about you? What have you contributed to your community? Share your wonderful inspirations with me

Well, in that case, I do have a clear cut idea of what I want my life to be.
A teacher. But not he one who reads text book out to children on a daily basis keeping in mind “Finishing the portions before exams”.
But a teacher who knows to the core what he is teaching. What better way to contribute to a community than paving a way for the young ones? They are the tomorrow.
That is a very noble intention you have. I pray all the best to that intention of yours
.
